A burner that clicks and never lights

Range Repair
A Pro Grand® or Pro Harmony® is two cooking systems on one chassis. A dead burner and an oven that will not hold heat are not the same repair path.

Overview

Ranges combine a cooktop and an oven. Ignition on a Star® burner, oven temperature, and the control that talks to both can fail independently. The first job is to say which system the complaint belongs to.
Gas, dual-fuel, and electric configurations change what is safe to test. That context is taken from the appliance in the kitchen, not from a generic range checklist.
Burner, oven, or control
Clicking without flame is an ignition question. An oven that never reaches bake is a heat-regulation question. A dark or frozen display may be the shared interface. Mixing those into one “range is broken” line delays a useful scope.
Book the visit with that split named if you can. Other kitchen repairs are listed under services. Product manuals remain on Thermador Support.
Common problems we fix
Heat that never arrives or will not hold
Uneven flame or a zone that stays weak
Knobs or a display that do not respond
A code on the range control
A self-clean or timed cycle that will not complete
Our diagnostic process
Which system
Burner, oven cavity, ignition, or the shared control.
Ignition path
Spark, valve, and flame behavior on the affected burner only.
Oven verification
Cavity temperature versus the setpoint you selected.
Safety context
Gas or high voltage as installed on that chassis.
The repair process
Outlined work
The scope names burner, oven, or control work — not a vague chassis repair.
Discussed components
Anything required is reviewed before that portion of the job continues.
Approved cooking repair
Work proceeds on the system you approved.
Function check
Ignition and/or oven heat is checked against the original complaint.
Technician expertise
Pro Grand® and Pro Harmony® put ignition, oven regulation, and a shared control on one body. Diagnosis has to say which of those the symptom belongs to.
Service terms after repair
If workmanship coverage applies to the completed range repair, it is documented with the estimate. No duration is stated here.
Safety first If you smell gas, shut the burner off, ventilate, and do not keep testing ignition. Gas valves and live range electrics are technician work.

Other burners may still light, but a gas smell or a burner that will not shut off is a stop. When in doubt, shut the gas control and wait for diagnosis.
The complaint is mapped to burner, oven, or control first. Both systems are on the same appliance; they are not automatically the same repair.
Turn the burner off, ventilate the room, and do not keep clicking ignition. Say that in the booking notes.
Which burner, whether the oven was in bake or broil, any code, and whether the cooktop still works.
Schedule range service
Say whether the problem is a burner, the oven cavity, ignition, or the controls.
